Link Software Updates

Link Software Updates includes set of enhancements and requested changes for functional areas of the application.       
       

For all clients who are on Version 8 and above, you can directly run the LinkSoft Updater from C:\Program Files (x86)\Link Technologies.     

Click on Linksoft Updater.exe to run the software updates.

                 

Upon execution it will download the latest available version and system will automatically uninstall the older version and install the latest application per machine.

Once the application has been updated, users need to upgrade the database to the latest version. 

Follow the steps below to upgrade the database.

1.       Open the Link database Update application. Click on the icon as shown below:
 
     

2.       Select the following options:

     
     i.   Choose the "Apply upgrade scripts to an existing LinkSOFT database" option.

     ii.  Select the server from the drop-down list, or type in the server name.

    iii.  Enter the server credentials. System administrative access is required to access the database server.

    iv.   Select the database to upgrade.

     v.   Click Run to start the Upgrade Script Selection.



3.       To upgrade the database, follow these steps: 

      

       i. Check the database and application version. The system will automatically select the scripts to apply, however in some cases, you will need to choose the scripts manually. 

     ii. Tick the scripts to upgrade based on the database version. If your database version is 8000, you need to apply all scripts above 8000. 

    iii.  Click Apply.

4.       If you receive an incomplete or error  message, contact our support team.

Note: If the application is on any version below 8.0.0, you will need to uninstall the entire Link Software application, remove the Link technologies folder from program files and then install the latest application. You can download the latest versions from our website under downloads.
If you have more  than one machine in a location, it is advised to download the new version and run the install on all machines.
